Volunteer 2Join a volunteer team at SFCSL that suits your interests. Deepen your relationships within our community while contributing to the Center’s operations and allow yourself to receive the bountiful gifts of Sacred Service. It’s a great, easy way to be of service to the Center while meeting and greeting our existing community as well as newcomers.

Sunday Service Teams

WELCOMING TEAM:  Members greet all Sunday guests before and after service.  They help to facilitate visitors’ further involvement in the Center.  This team staffs the Welcome Desk, providing information about our community.  They keep welcome packets updated, and follow-up appropriately with the visitor cards.  Commitment is one Sunday a month.

USHER TEAM:  Members greet those walking into Sanctuary, handing them bulletins and other handouts as designated.  Pass the Offering baskets and count the gifts after the service.  Commitment is one Sunday a month.

BOOKSTORE TEAM:  Members staff the bookstore before and after Sunday service.  Be aware of any straightening the bookshelves may need.  Meet as needed.  Commitment is one Sunday a month.

MULTI-MEDIA TEAM:  Team members set up and monitor all audio/visual equipment for the service, work the cameras for live streaming, prepare archived files for the website, and so much more!

MUSIC TEAM:  Members include the Music Director, Song Leaders, and the Minister.  Select and perform Sunday service music.

SUNDAY SERVICE COORDINATOR:  Members arrive early on Sunday morning to arrange the sanctuary for the service, check with Audio/Visual Team and assist with any needed adjustments, and check on Minister’s needs.  Commitment is one Sunday a month, when there is a full team.

Community Teams

SOCIAL/HOSPITALITY TEAM:  Team members plan opportunities for members of our community to interact and connect with one another.  They arrange events including the potlucks, Sunday snacks, music events, picnics, and dinner dance.  This team is an important Sunday Service Team as well.

VISIONING TEAM:  Members meet monthly (Fourth Sundays) to engage in the Spiritual Practice of Visioning for the Center and themselves.  This Team is essential for anchoring Spirit’s Vision for our community.

MEMBERSHIP TEAM:  Team members communicate member guidelines to the community, manage member enrollment applications and events, and plans and executes annual Membership Drives.

OUTREACH TEAM:  Team members seek out activities, events and campaigns in the outside community as opportunities for our members to be of service, and work with Gifts in Action to identify nonprofits as recipients.  Annual projects include feeding those at the Interfaith Shelter, the Gay Pride Parade, Pamoja Project, partnering with Adelante gathering warm clothes for homeless school kids in winter.  They have added an environmental effort as Friends of the Santa Fe River, and support for homeless pets, partnering with the Espanola Humane Society, for a Pet Adoption event in the Spring.

GREEN/LANDSCAPE TEAM:  Team members care for the garden and landscaping.  Several Garden Parties occur throughout the year.

LONG-TERM PLANNING TEAM:  Team members supported the community in our transition between ministers, developed and implemented the annual pledge campaign, and now are focused on solidifying the long term financial position of our Spiritual Center.

CENTER STAGE TEAM:  Members seek appropriate events to be held at our Center.  They assist in set-up and break-down of these events.

MARKETING TEAM:  Members find creative ways to make our Center and its offerings visible to the greater community.

FUND RAISING TEAM:  Team members create events FUN events that also raise funds to support our programs and offerings.

ARTS & AESTHETICS:  These members find ways to beautify the different rooms of our building.
